8 Northumberland Christmas Showcase

8 Northumberland Christmas Showcase
December 6, 2016

Last night two of our Crazy Cows were lucky enough to be invited to 8 Northumberland for a 2017 Christmas party preview. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of champagne and wowed by the spectacular décor and theming as we stepped into the ballroom. The current theming for 2016 in the ballroom is ‘Secret Garden’ . The attention to detail was incredible, fairy light trees, woodland theming and the warm glow from creative lighting.

Canapes were delicately placed on glass box trays filled with Christmas ball balls. Canapes ranged from white chocolate pearl duck parfait to salmon mousse crudités. We were then guided round the venue exploring other themed rooms, the rooms were very grand with beautiful chandeliers, that tied in nicely with the cluedo theming.

Every room was different, which caters for different client needs. Dinner was then announced and the grand doors opened. ‘The Lost Palace of Atlantis’ is the 2017 Christmas theming and we were grateful for the preview. Waves were projected on the ceiling, gold shells scattered the table and the table draped in artificial coral. We were really immersed into a world under the sea.

For starter, we ate queen scallop served in a shell with king prawn and spinach mornay, Bouillabaisse, lobster croûte with rouille. The starter was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and a 10 out of 10 from Crazy Cow!

Our wine glasses were topped and we were ready for our mains, slow cooked beef fillet, spinach & beef ravioli, creamed spinach & Cornish sea salad, oyster mushroom fricassee, horseradish. Another flavoursome dish with wine that complimented the taste!

We soaked up the atmosphere chatting to other guests that also loved the venue!! The big reveal! The double doors that remained closed throughout the whole dinner opened, and in front of us was a table laden in sweet treats, from lollipops, to mini milkshakes, to nitrous oxide ice-cream. We even tried ‘Dragons breath’ a mini meringue which was frozen from nitrous oxide that you place in your mouth and creates a cloud of mist.

Overall the experience was fantastic! The atmosphere, venue and food was great, the staff were attentive and we cannot wait to recommend this venue to our clients.
