A day in the life of a Crazy Cow

This week I thought I would give you an insight into what a day being a Crazy Cow can be like. Sometimes I wonder why we even have an office as I spend such little time in it.

The day started early and dressed in lycra because it was off the Lee Valley VeloPark’s velodrome to test out a new product on offer from the wonderful AOK Events. I am quite a keen cyclist but I have never ridden on a banked racing track before and I was very nervous. But I am very competitive.

I have to say that this was one of the best things I have ever done. You quite quickly get the hang of it and are soon flying round the track. There were quite a few people there who were experienced cyclists and they also had a great time. I am very proud to say that Team Cow was the winner. Not me personally, but our team.

Anyway, after a quick shower I jumped on the tube for the 10-minute ride into Bank station. The sun was shining and the day was shaping up nicely.

After a short stroll I arrived at the Gherkin to a friendly smile and a warm welcome and it was straight to the restaurant for lunch. As you can imagine, I have been to a lot of the larger buildings in the City, but the views from here are second to none. Now what to have for lunch? The food was amazing!

After lunch I has a little look around to check out the beautiful and very reasonably priced private dining rooms. The views from the Champagne Bar were outstanding, but I could also see an ominous grey cloud approaching – things were about to get wet.

Leaving this stunning building, the heavens opened and yes, of course, I was wearing cream trousers. Anyway, no time to waste being wet – it was off to Kings Cross and the Renaissance Hotel for afternoon tea with a client to plan a meeting for a 1,000 people and Christmas Party that we are doing the event management for.

The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel is so beautiful in the old red brick building of St Pancras Station. We went into the stunning atrium for afternoon tea and I have never seen so much food. It was truly delicious. The clients had a fine old time and I also managed to dry out.

With no time to waste, it was then off to the river and the beautiful Tattershall Castle. It is moored on the banks of the Thames, just outside Embankment tube station. This stunning boat hosts parties large and small and this night was a birthday celebration. They did us proud with great food and drinks and superb service.

Phew! I’m exhausted just reading it all back. Can you imagine how tired I was as I fell into bed? But what a great day.
