Afternoon Out With Drake & Morgan

Afternoon Out With Drake & Morgan
July 13, 2016

On the 7th of July Drake & Morgan kindly invited the Crazy Cow team along to see three of their London venues. Each had its own theme and feel, but I have to say, they were all spectacular.

We started at “The Drift” in Bishopsgate. It had drift brims and hidden alcoves which gave it a real seaside feel. We were shown around by the super-friendly Ola and Stuart, who treated us to some delicious canapes and amazing cocktails. My personal favourite was the refreshing London Spritz made with Tanqueray gin, cucumber, elderflower, apple, mint & soda. Perfect after a day traipsing around London. The venue itself is lovely, with bright and comfortable spaces and an open kitchen and beautiful cabana area. It’s also handily open 7 days a week – what more could you ask for?

There was no time to waste as we were whisked off to the next venue, “The Folly” in Gracechurch Street near Monument tube station. The decor is changed every month and when we visited it had a beautiful French garden feel to it. The whole first floor had a vibrant and natural layout and the basement has cool little vaults, perfect if you want to get away from the crowd with a few friends.

Before I knew it, it was time to leave for the final venue, but not before I had sneaked a few sweets out of the ladies.

“The Anthologist” in Gresham Street is across the road from the Guildhall and has a big open plan layout that is perfect for any occasion. I also liked their little booths, ideal for small groups catching up after work, while the snug and the panel areas are excellent for larger groups and the flat screen tv makes it perfect for watching a match or two at Wimbledon. The Chef’s table was an added touch, tucked away right at the side of the kitchen counter for a more private dining experience.

The highlight of the trip was our mixology class. I couldn’t believe my luck when we got told we were making Porn Star Martinis, my favourite cocktail in the whole world made from cariel vanilla vodka, passion fruit and prosecco.

This is one we actually made!

All three of these Drake & Morgan venues are superb, and I would highly recommend each one whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, have a private dinner, or even grab a quick drink.
